Technology
We source our turbines from Proven Energy Ltd, specialist manufacturers of small scale wind turbines since 1980. Installed in locations across the world the Proven turbines are direct driven, down wind turbines with no automatic braking or cut out system thus ensuring maximum returns from the equipment even in high winds whilst also operating quietly. The turbine cuts in at 2.5m/s.
The Proven group of turbines include the 2.5, 6 & 15kW turbines as
shown in the photograph.
We offer 6kW and 15kW turbines which in most cases would be grid connected although battery systems are also installed. The table below sets out some of the key elements of the turbines.

Grid connected systems enable the export of energy in times of excess and import from the grid when there is not enough energy generated. For safety reasons, in the event of a power cut the turbine will be cut off. A battery system will have to be used in the absence of a grid supply.
The system has a direct drive generator which operates without a gearbox helping to reduce maintenance as well as noise.
The unique design of the blades enables the turbine to adapt to the strength of the wind optimising performance in light or strong winds.
The only noise is a swishing from the wind around the blades however this is seldom audible above the background noise of the wind.

Installation
The foundation to the turbine must be installed in accordance with the appropriate specification and the concrete left to cure for about two weeks prior to installation of the tower and turbine itself.
The base plate must be installed securely and correctly to ensure maximum life longevity of the turbine.
The installation and connection of the turbine itself can take as little as two days but allow for 3/4 days.
Maintenance
The turbine comes with a 2 year parts warranty as standard which may be extended to 5 years.
The design life of the turbines is 25 years. To ensure maximum efficiency and life a turbine should be serviced annually. We offer a maintenance contract for all turbines installed by us.
